Gotelee Solicitors

Gotelee is a leading firm of solicitors in Suffolk. We offer a full range of personal and business legal services from offices in Ipswich, the county town and principal commercial centre of Suffolk, Hadleigh, Felixstowe, Melton and in Woodbridge. Formerly Gotelee & Goldsmith, the firm was established in 1880 and has a reputation for its professional work and its personal approach with clients. The Challenge
The Gotelee group expanded through acquisition in April 2016, increasing from 3 to 6 sites, with plans for further growth in the future. Owing to this expansion and the cost of adding extra capacity to existing telephone systems, the company’s management team decided to migrate over to a cloud based hosted VoIP solution as the best way forward. This type of solution would also bring other significant benefits.

The Solution

Gotelee sourced numerous competitive tenders for a suitable hosted VoIP solution. They then commissioned Beyond Telecoms Consulting (BTC) to give technical input on the project. Based on careful consideration after meeting with Gotelee’s management, BTC’s two objectives were to assist Gotelee to choose the best supplier/hosted VoIP system combination to meet their needs both at the time and moving forwards and to ensure the
system would function as required within the environment of their 6 offices. In order to achieve these objectives, BTC took on an advisory role which encompassed the following tasks.

1. Visit the company’s 6 offices to become familiar with existing systems and networks.
2. Carry out research to ensure that all sites had suitable connectivity available that would be necessary for the use of hosted VoIP.
3. Review all tenders to ensure they met Gotelee’s requirements.
4. Carry out research into potential suppliers / hosted platforms and ensure they met relevant technical and other requirements.
5. Identify any potential issues with the tenders / issues not addressed.
6. Raise queries with potential suppliers.
7. Make recommendations to Gotelee management.

The Benefits

The main benefits of working with BTC and migrating over to a hosted VoIP solution are as follows:

✅ Business continuity features are built in to enable the business to continue operating in the event of a site outage.
✅ The solution is hosted on a scalable, robust and secure UC platform to accommodate future growth plans.
